A Wilhelm Scream-Lose Your Delusion (2022)

Why I Like It:

The album Lose Your Delusion came into my orbit by other bands and music enthusiasts shouting it out this year. Eventually I saw the amazing album art and was intrigued enough to dive deeper. Holly molly were my socks blown off!

For whatever reason, I never listened to a A Wilhelm Scream much. Although I could appreciate the musicianship, I think it was a bit too hard for my preferences. This album however is just perfect for my tastes. It's got more sing along qualities that pair well with fast paced technical instruments and vocals.

From reading and listening to interviews of the band, I can also appreciate how the band plays in their own lane. Never bending to what genres or labels may want them to play. Instead they play music that feels right and are always striving to challenge themselves musically. That really comes out not just in this release but their other albums as well.

The top it all off Lose Your Delusion has their own version of 'Oh Canada'. If I wasn't won over before, this definitely did it! A Wilhelm Scream give thanks and appreciation to the fans and important people to them within a few songs and it's really heartwarming to listen to.

If not an album of year contender, which right now it is, then Lose Your Delusion will definitely get the Pleasantly Unexpected Gem...Award. Ya that sounds like a legit award.
