Gleemer-Down Through (2020)

Why I like it:

There are some albums that you are meant to listen to with intent, giving it your full attention to truly be immersed into the art. Then there's other albums that you are meant to listen to while doing an activity, like a summer nights stroll down a residential street. Gleemer's Down Through would fall into the later category.

Down Through is a sprawling atmospheric album that will take you through whichever journey you need to get through. It will provide the backdrop as you venture past those dimly light houses on the street and let those thoughts and feelings surface that you may not have been consciously been aware of. At the right time and headspace, this can be the album that you need. It certainly has been for me and I am grateful it was there when I've needed it for those emotions I couldn't even pinpoint but needed to get out.

Not to sound like a downer, because this is actually an album I can listen to anytime just for great fuzzy guitars and hunting base; but when there's that time I really need it, Gleemer is there. The other few albums that can do this for me are ones like American Football's fist LP and Jimmy Eat World's Clarity (with "Goodbye Sky Harbor" never skipped).

The reason I decided to talk about Gleemer now is because they have a new EP that just dropped and I would highly recommend it too!
