The Wonder Years-The Greatest Generation (2013)

Why I like it:

I'm just gonna come clean right from the start; I'm a new Wonder Years fan. Lets keep things in perspective, back in 2013 I was more into singles and less into whole albums. That's around the time I was downloading individual songs from LimeWire and loading them into the iPod. Oh man what a time.

I gotta say, since the streaming services came into play, I've been appreciating the art of the album more and focusing less on the singles. That may not be the case of others, who use curated playlists on the steaming services, but for myself it has been a trend towards listening to whole albums. So how does this play into me talking about The Greatest Generation you may ask?

Well The Greatest Generation is best listened to as a whole project. There's a story within the album that crescendos into an epic closer that pays off in the best way. If I start the album then I am listening to the whole thing, no skipping, no shuffling. The story is about accepting your flaws (either inherited or developed) and trying your best to be a good person, despite all that. "I Just Want to Sell Out my Funeral" is easily one of the best closers to an album I've ever heard.

I want to give a shout out to Nate the Mate (linked below) for convincing me check out this album by The Wonder Years and I look forward to digging deeper into their other works!
